eventHere are some ideas for creating and sharing content from an event for promoting your brand online.

1. Videos
Hand out video cameras to your employees to capture the buzz and the happenings as well as utilizing a video recording crew to record event. These can be posted on YouTube or submitted to an online social media Video distributor such as TubeMogul.com which provides a free service that provides a single point for  deploying videos to the top video and social networking sites.
2. Pictures & Images
Create a Flickr account to allow attendees to submit photos to share. This provides crowd sourcing content that is free and remember that most phones now have high quality multi-mega pixel cameras. It does’t cost you a cent and provides your brand with more presence online.
3. Slideshare
Slideshare is a social media platform that turns your Powerpoint presentations, Word, PDF’s, documents and professional videos into slides for viewing online anywhere anytime. They can’t be copied but allows you to share the major points from an event.
4. Twitter
You can create a Hashtag for the event eg #myeventname that allows you to see peoples reactions to the event in real time and to also create buzz about the event and your brand.
5. Blogs
Engage bloggers to blog about the event and you can aggregate their posts using a blog widget
6. Facebook
Create a Facebook page or group for the event to share updates before and after as well as being able to publish links ,images, videos and any other multi-media rich content
7. Website
Also don’t forget to publish content both before and after the event on your website. (It helps if you have a website developed using a CMS  (Content Management System) that allows easy uploading of content without hving to know programming or HTML.

Do you want to improve your search engine optimization? Embracing Google+ should be on your short list of activities.

Experts continue to debate whether Google+ has the power to last beyond Google’s previous attempts at entering the social networking realm. But one thing is clear: Google+ is making its presence known in Google search results now. Here are some ways you can ensure that your Google+ usage will help with your search rankings.

1. Get more Followers
This may go against everything you believe about social media and how it’s not supposed to be a numbers game, but rather a matter of quality versus quantity. When it comes to using Google+ for search ranking benefits, you’ll want quantity in the form of as many followers as possible

2. Set Up Authorship With Your Personal Profile
Google+ now offers a way for you to really stand out in search results by claiming authorship for articles you have written. This is something that is showing up in search results, even when people are not logged into Google+.

3. Directly Connect Your Page
Be sure to directly connect your Google+ page to your website. You can add a simple piece of code to your page that no one will see on your website or you can add a Google+ badge which, as mentioned earlier, can help you get followers for your page.

4.Fill Out Your Information
Last but not least, be sure to fill in the information for your profile and pages completely. Google prioritizes different areas of the profile for both on-page optimization and in search results.

10 ways to make your website Workzmarter

better websiteYour website is the “storefront” of your business. Your website needs to attract customers and keep them coming back for more. There are always many ways to improve any website.

Below, we’ve included a list of 10 questions that could help you to improve your website.

So pull up your website and ask yourself the following questions:

1. Where do your eyes go first?

You only have a few seconds to capture the attention of your audience…make sure they’re seeing something important.

2. Can you tell what the website is about?

Again, you only have a few seconds to communicate your unique value, so be clear and compelling.

3. Is important information above the fold?

Make sure your opt-in forms and Unique Selling Proposition are available without scrolling down.

4. Are the benefits highlighted?

Your visitors want to quickly learn “what’s in it for them.” Spell out the benefits clearly on the homepage.

5. Is there a clear call to action?

If they like what they see, prospects need to know what to do next. It can be to buy now, start a free trial, or simply download a free report.

6. Are the colors and font distracting?

Jarring colors, quick animation, and gaudy fonts can really be distracting. And if your visitors are distracted, they’ll click away. Ensure that contrast levels and text sizes are ‘acceptable’. Just because you have perfect 20:20 vision doesn’t mean that anyone can read your site.

7. Do you feel personally connected?

Consumers want to buy from people, not machines. Connect with your prospects by being honest, straightforward, and using a conversational style.

8. Are there links to social media?

Many people want to do a little more research before buying. Linking to social media sites gives your potential customers another glimpse into your company (and perhaps a few testimonials from other customers).

9. Can people understand your text?

Think about your audience and reword those confusing sentences.

10. Do you have relevant images on your website?

Some of the most attractive features of websites that draw people to visit them are the images. While it is true that content is the most important part when trying to increase website ranking, the images are the ones that keep people from being bored while they are on your pages. By all means create beautiful images, but don’t forget to optimise them for the web. You may have a quick connection.

Once you determine a few areas where you can improve, develop a plan to start implementing changes. You don’t have to do them all at once – just do a few at a time until you have a website that really converts.
