I don’t usually write about my own experiences but I must say that yesterday was a fantastic day and if I ever win the lottery I shall devote my time to enabling days like yesterday!

It started at 7am with the first taster session for the new Business Solent Associate Champion Fast Track session at the Concorde Club Eastleigh. This is a new initiative and brings together business owners in the Solent region to share experiences and ideas and collaborate in a way that was a real inspiring! I am part of the team who are driving the project along with Martin Brown , Steve Jones, Lou Williams, Geoff Patterson, Angie Beeston and Andy Hollands.  The meeting was a fantastic success and many of the people are looking forward to meeting and collaborating with each other.

In the evening we had a meeting at Solent University with members from the business faculty and local FSB members to look around the resources that the university has to offer local businesses.   It was truly impressive. Our host, Alan Scrase showed the group around the tow tank and rapid manufacture departments and then moved onto the TV studios.

The University is very keen to offer their services and meeting rooms to local business people and we are hoping that this first meeting will be the start of a great relationship. There are also opportunities for interns and funding for graduates to work with local businesses. An inspiring meeting (again)
