The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership held its official launch event on
Tuesday July 26, at the City Cruise Terminal in Southampton.
The LEP board introduced themselves to the Solent business community at the
event and delegates were encouraged to ask questions of them.
The new Solent Apprentices for Business scheme was announced (see next blog)
Key note speakers at the event included Doug Morrison, Solent LEP Chairman, and
David Dingle CBE, CEO of Carnival UK.
Mr Morrison, said: “It is a real landmark in the development of the LEP.”
“The event will give us the opportunity to introduce ourselves to the Solent business
community and, just as importantly, it will give the Solent business community the
opportunity to introduce themselves to us.”
“Engagement with local business will be extremely important in helping us focus
our efforts on the issues which are most important to the region.”
The event was run in partnership with the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce
and attracted a lot of interest from the Solent community with over 200 delegates
